Akirado Soroyoto
Overview
Akirado Soroyoto was Emperor of Sorestia before the rise of his brother Raiken. He was a courteous ruler who treated others with respect and diplomacy. The people admired him for his calm presence and steady leadership. His trust in advisers who did not deserve it allowed corruption to grow in hidden corners of the empire. His reign offered stability, yet it lacked the resolve needed to confront the ambitions of powerful generals.
Fall
His rule collapsed after a betrayal during a campaign on a rebellious planet. His forces were defeated and several generals abandoned the front at the most critical moment. Akirado was captured. When his freedom was later purchased, a mutiny erupted aboard the vessel that carried him back to Sorestia. During the chaos he was blinded. The events of that night were never explained and no witness spoke publicly about what happened.
Exile
The Council used his blindness as a legal justification for his removal, since imperial law demanded full physical integrity from the Emperor. Akirado was exiled to the prison planet Kageri. He lived there for years in silence and darkness.
Kaori Soroyoto
Kaori Soroyoto was the wife of Akirado Soroyoto and the mother of his children, including the heir Akiro. Her murder, along with their children, was the heaviest and most personal blow in Akirado’s life and a defining moment in his downfall. Her death became entangled in broader political schemes and conspiracies surrounding the imperial succession, turning a family tragedy into a tool of power and manipulation. For Akirado, her loss remains an unhealed wound and a central cause of his deep rupture with both his brother and imperial authority.
