Cerbex AI

Definition

Cerbex is a central operational artificial intelligence developed to oversee corporate networks, data repositories, and entire building infrastructure within facilities and complexes.

It is widely deployed across companies in Lastor and other nations on the continents of Olmara, but it is also sold to multiple countries and planets.

Control Scope

  • Lighting for offices and corridors
  • Moving stairways and elevators
  • Door locks and access zones (role- and permission-based)
  • Security cameras and video analytics
  • Motion and presence tracking (cards, devices, sensors)
  • HVAC and temperature systems
  • Power distribution, UPS units, and backup conveyors
  • Vending machines and information kiosks

Interfaces

  • Issues cards, temporary passes, and alerts via Communicators
  • Displays announcements and emergency routes on screens through Cast
  • Accepts maintenance packages or keys via Blinkstick in restricted service functions
  • Exports compliance events to the Social Point System where legally required

Data and Security

  • Strong authentication (RBAC, least privilege, temporary elevation with two-person rule)
  • Data encryption in transit and at rest, immutable event files with retention policies
  • Continuous anomaly detection for unusual access, movement, or device behavior
  • Enhanced facility security, automatic door locking by zone, camera privacy masks, audit trails

Operation

  • Daily: Adjusts lighting, temperature, and elevator traffic according to occupancy, coordinates maintenance windows
  • Incidents: Activates targeted locks, reroutes elevators, opens evacuation paths, broadcasts instructions via Cast, and can alert on-site teams via Communicators

Risks and Misuse

  • Overreach: Omnipresent monitoring can limit employee autonomy
  • Single point of failure: Breach can trigger cascading issues in doors, power, and communications
  • Internal misuse: Forced overrides or “silent” lockouts, mitigated through dual control and immutable logging
