Haran of Keryl
Overview
Haran of Keryl is a resident of the village of Woldham on the planet Kether and a witness to the attack carried out by unknown vessels against the fortress of the Order of the One. He lives a simple rural life and cultivates the communal orchards with the other villagers. He respects old traditions and secretly worships the gods of the Heptad in the ancient temples that were torn down by the priests of the One.
The Attack
During a quiet day in the fields Haran heard a deep rumble in the sky and saw crafts of an unfamiliar type emerge from the clouds. The vessels were large and unmarked and opened fire on the OTO fortress, destroying its six towers within moments. He also saw heavy land vehicles disembark and advance while firing, chasing soldiers who attempted to flee. Haran ran back toward the village to warn the residents and alert them to the danger.
The Interrogation
A few days later Haran was captured near the ruins of the fortress when he tried to approach and see what remained. He was interrogated by General Mardek Thalon and his team. Despite his fear he spoke honestly and described everything he had witnessed. At Thalon’s request he was given paper and pencil and drew the ships and the vehicles. The general recognized an old Liberal Alliance emblem yet noted that the vessels and armored units did not match LAP designs. Haran’s testimony strengthened the suspicion that someone was attempting to provoke a conflict between the Order of the One and the LAP.
Personality
Haran is simple, honest and strongly tied to his community. He carries a quiet courage and a deep loyalty to the old gods of earth and light. Although he fears the power of the outsiders he chooses to speak the truth.
