Shelter Minor
Overview
Shelter Minor is an isolated planet used by the Corp as a refuge for groups of Tettari rescued from other worlds.
The planet lies far beyond the beacon grid. Even Corp vessels must travel a considerable distance after their final jump before reaching it. Its isolation led the Corp to regard it as a safe destination, far from hostile forces and unwanted visitors.
Geography and Climate
The climate of Shelter Minor is mild, except in the polar regions. Large temperate zones cover most of its three continents.
Fertile plains, rivers, lakes and lowland forests provide suitable conditions for agriculture and animal husbandry. The mountain ranges are relatively low and covered with forests, while only a few peaks remain covered in snow.
The oceans surrounding the three continents contain numerous uninhabited islands and abundant fishing grounds.
Tettari Settlements
The Tettari live in small agricultural villages and cultivate the fertile plains surrounding rivers and lakes. The abundance of water, arable land and forests allows them to maintain a peaceful and relatively self-sufficient way of life.
Although the seas of Shelter Minor are rich in marine life, the Tettari remain people of the land and have never developed a maritime tradition. They fish mainly in lakes near their villages, using small improvised boats.
The communities have very little contact with outsiders. Visitors are usually treated with distant courtesy and caution, particularly when they do not belong to the Tettari people.
Lako Serrad
Lako Serrad settled on Shelter Minor after Bold offered him the opportunity. He spent a long time travelling between villages, uncertain whether the Tettari would ever accept someone who belonged to the people that had harmed them in the past.
